We have been very fortunate. "The Latest"
details our current diary of how Zach is doing. If you follow
Zach's journey through stages 1 though 5 or click on "diary
archives" you can see our past struggle: the waiting and
the hoping that some how someone will be able to put aside their
grief to give our son a second chance at life. Our journey has
brought us into contact with many families who have not been
as fortunate as us. Imagine as you read our story the pain and
anguish of the families whose journey starts out the same but
ends in tragedy because a donor is not found in time. That's
the reality that faces half the families of kids waiting for
new hearts and those waiting for other organs as well. Please
talk about organ donation with your families and please share
our website. More than 6000 people died waiting for organs in
1999. If even one person changes their mind about organ donation
after reading Zach's story; five or more lives could be saved.
